Seminar: IT Governance & IT security. Implementation Roadmap for healthcare sector

Vladimir Stantchev is the executive director of the Institute of Information Systems at SRH Hochschule Berlin, Germany, where he is also a full professor. His major research interests are in the areas of IT governance, cloud computing architectures, IT strategy, as well as methods for service and software engineering. 

Stantchev is a senior member of the ACM, IEEE (Computer Society, Communication Society, and Standards Association), member of the University Professors Advisory Board of the German Informatics Society GI e.V., as well as board member at international conferences, journals and technology companies.

He is going to teach the seminar of the May 20th tittled as IT Governance & IT security, Implementation Roadmap for healthcare sector. The summary of this seminar is:

"Healthcare and the life sciences are one of the most challenging application domains for IT.
He will present an analysis of the legal regulations for cloud computing in healthcare based on decades-long industrial and academic expertise in cloud-based data processing for healthcare and life sciences organizations.
He will also outline and apply an implementation road map that helps organizations govern health data processing and storage."

SEMINAR: “IoT and Data Analytics as enablers for developing Servitization strategies. The application in Project Based Firms”


Carlos Galera Zarco is a researcher PhD candidate in Economics and Business from the University of Granada. 

He also holds a Master in Economics & International Management (Univ. of Granada & SRH Berlin, 2012) and a BSc. in Civil Engineering (Univ. of Granada, 2008). He has developed professional activity as a civil engineer at SACYR. He has been visiting lecturer at the MBA of Aston Business School (U.K.) and a scholarship student in the course on Competitive Advantage in the Digital Economy by Warwick Business School (U.K.). His main area of research focuses on the development of innovation within Business Strategy, with special focus on Servitization and application of new technologies. He has published articles in scientific journals and has presented his research at several international conferences.


Servitization may be conceptualised as the transformation in the firm strategy from a focus on selling products to selling complete solutions. This strategy, based on the addition of associated services, offers several advantages which are suggested by Academy and practical experiences. The irruption of new technologies such as Internet of things, cloud computing or data analytics allow developing innovative strategies based on new advanced services. These strategies are transforming the business models in several industries as well as the way in which companies relate each other.

During this seminar we are also going to explain the application of these theories and the emergence of servitized business model in Project based firms.

Seminar: Francisco Javier Valverde García

Francisco Javier has both a bachelor degree in Pharmacology, and a bachelor degree in senior management of companies. He has also a master degree in Marketing in Pharmacology, and a master degree in Marketing and Consumer Behavior. 

He is currently working as manager at the Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo del Alimento Funcional (CIDAF) in the Parque Tecnológico de Ciencias de Salud. Francisco Javier is also associate professor at the Departamento de Comercialización e Investigación de Mercados at the Universidad de Granada.

He has been Marketing Director and/or Managing Director in companies like Aguas de Lanjarón, Danone, Energizer, and Cervezas Alhambra. He has also worked in the pharmacology sector in companies like ASAC Pharma, Lipharma, and Lorgen.

He has also a strong research activity, mainly focused on marketing activities, biotech companies, and commercial communication.

Seminar: Radosław Krasowski

Radosław Krasowski is representing Geoban SA, part of Banco Santander, full name is: Geoban SA branch in Poland. Currently they are in two locations in Poland: Wroclaw and Gdynia having 700 employees on board.

They could offer for Spanish students excellent possibility of long term trainee program ( 3-6 months ) in such a process where Spanish language is the must:
  • Software testing
  • Disputes process for credit cards

There is no problem to arrange meeting with students and present more detailed information. They are open for different ways of cooperation including also a possibility on employment.
Currently they have more than 10 employees from Spanish spoken countries perfectly integrated with Polish colleagues:
  • profile of students: all economics and banking studies or IT, software testing
  • duration of internships: from 3 months till one year time, there is an option of work as well, depends on candidates availability

Seminar: "Debates independentistas recientes en Quebec, Países Bajos, Cataluña y Escocia: una perspectiva económica"

University of Granada has organized a seminar called "Debates independentistas recientes en Quebec, Países Bajos, Cataluña y Escocia: una perspectiva económica".

This seminar will be teaching by François  Vaillancourt, who is a great teacher from University of Montreal. The summary about this seminar is really interesting:

"Secessionist movements are common in the world and have led to the splitting of countries in the past both in Western Europe  (Norway-Sweden; Czech-Slovakia) and elsewhere (Ethiopia-Eritrea; Sudan-South Sudan). In this political economy presentation we examine the role that various drivers play in four drives to secede: Catalonia, Flanders ,Québec and Scotland. We then present
economic work done for Québec on impacts on capital markets, GDP and migration."

Seminar: Hana Skalska


Full time professor at the Deparment of Informatics and Quantitative Methods University of Hradec Kralove, formerly (1997 – 2012) head of department. Besides educating students she is devoted to building effective support tools for teaching and learning statistics (design and building e-courses). She is interested in predictive analytics and visualisation methods, statistical and data mining software (IBM SPSS Statistics, IBM SPSS Modeler, R language), and the role of knowledge of statistics in integrated analytics solutions.

Hana Skalska holds a RNDr. degree of Probability and Statistics from Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University Prague, associate professor in Statistics from University of Economics Prague, and professor in Information and Knowledge Management from Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Kralove.

As an instructor, she teaches courses “Applied Statistics” and “Statistical Models and Data” to master degree students in Information Management and Applied Informatics. She teaches courses in “Advanced Statistical Methods” and “Statistical and Mathematical Methods in Decision Support” to doctoral students in Information and Knowledge Management.

Hana Skalska will be tomorrow at 12.30h in room D-011 at Faculty Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales from University of Granada, as part of the seminars that Masters in Economics are organizing for all its students and for other students who have interest in these subjects.

Seminar: Marta Aroza


On next Monday April 11th, in room D-011 of Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales will take place a seminar taught by one of our master's alumni.

Marta Aroza studied MEIM and has been selected for a second year at SRH Hochschule Berlin and obtained the Double Master’s Degree in Economics and International Management (UGR y SRH Berlín).  
The experience was so good that she decided to stay and work there.

This seminar is about her experience as a foreign student in SRH and Berlin, and all that she had lived in Germany and how she obtained a job there.

The talk is going to be very interesting because students will know more about the possibilities they have after the master. It will also be an opportunity for prospective students to meet students from the master and ask whatever doubts they may have.

TimetableThird Quarter


The last Tuesday, February 29th began the third quarter of Master in Economics. As it always happens at the beginning of a new quarter, students have to organize their timetables in order not to loose any class nor seminar. 

The students have the possibility to discover new courses that help them to achieve more advanced knowledge about economic and management. These are really interesting and actual subjects.

All courses will be taken in English, to ensure students to acquire a solid basis in this language and also, the students will rise their English level and will be fluent at the same time that they will lose the fear to express themselves  in other language.

Lecturer Santiago Carbó – Ciclo Funcas


The Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales organizes the round of  Funcas’ Conferences. The main objective of these conferences is to analyze the current economic situation in Spain.

The structure of each session consist in both an academic presentation and then a discussion, where attendees are encouraged to actively participate and present their concerns and opinions.

There will be also a presentation about “How can Funcas help to students in their research?” The objective of this presentation is to explain the possibilities offered by FUNCAS to facilitate economic research by students.

These activities will be on April 12th (Tuesday) in Aula Magna at the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales of the University of Granada.
